Chris Vanderzyden

M&A Advisor  and founding principal of Legacy Partners, LLP.

Chris Vanderzyden, CPA, CVGA, CEPA is a founding principal of Legacy Partners, LLP, a Mergers and Acquisitions Advisory firm that guides privately held business owners in the creation and execution of their exit strategy, resulting in the harvesting and preservation of wealth.

Her career began as a CPA with PricewaterhouseCoopers, then as an asset manager with Northwest Asset Management in Los Angeles. Following her positions in the corporate world, she has consulted for privately held business owners in driving business value for over two decades.

In addition, she speaks internationally on the topic of exit planning, is an expert contributor for media outlets, and is a guest lecturer for Harvard University’s Strategic Management Entrepreneurship & Innovation graduate course.

Jonathan Kim, JD, MBA

M&A Attorney

Jonathan Kim, JD, MBA is a provider of legal and advisory services on complex corporate, regulatory & compliance, governance and alternative dispute resolution matters. As Lead Counsel on strategic corporate matters, including M&A transactions, he helps to minimize outside legal costs by identifying suitable Co-Counsel to handle all legal and deal-making services, retaining Co-Counsel on behalf of such clients and overseeing the work of Co-Counsel during the course of their representations. His state and federal bar admissions include CT, DC, FL, GA, MA, NY, the EDNY and SDNY. Jonathan is a Practicing Fellow at the Millstein Center for Global Markets and Corporate Ownership at Columbia Law School and a Guest Lecturer at the University of Miami’s Herbert Business School in their Business Law Department. 

Jonathan holds a BA from Brown University, an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center.

Nicole Kershner

Operations Director

As our Operations Director, Nicole is an integral team member involved in every step of the process, keeping things moving along efficiently and on schedule.

With a degree in Business Administration, Nicole brings with her over 15 years of combined experience in finance, marketing, sales and operations management. She has the unique ability to see the big picture while mastering the daily details. She has worked across many facets of business operations including optimizing sales and marketing platform tools and workflows, creating procedural guidelines, managing customer communications, streamlining ticketing system and conflict resolution protocols, and training staff. She has a can-do attitude and is an agent of change and process improvement.

Susan McCoy, Esq.

Estate Planning

Susan McCoy, Esq. is a partner with Cooley Shrair and manages our estate planning department. She provides a broad spectrum of estate and trust planning services.

She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and the Western New England College School of Law.

She and her husband Tom provide guidance and education to families and their advisors, helping them transition significant capital, both financial and relational, from one generation to the next.

Tom Rogerson, founding principal of GenLeg Co., is a recognized leader and pioneer in family governance and legacy planning.

After almost four decades on the fiduciary side at institutions such as BNY Mellon, Coopers and Lybrand, and Wilmington Trust, Tom teamed up with his wife, Cathy, a certified relationship coach, and started GenLeg Co., Inc. Together they provide guidance and education to families and their advisors, helping them transition significant capital, from one generation to the next.

Nitin Sahay responsibilities include financial research, modeling, and valuation in support of our valuation and optimization team.  He has contributed to our clients’ exit process across industries. He has a Master’s Degree in Finance from ICFAI

John Turgeon, CPA

M&A Tax Analysis, CPA

John Turgeon, CPA is a specialist in all accounting and tax issues that impact privately held business owners as they grow their business and ultimately transition out through the exit planning process. He has additional expertise in the implementation of technology in business, planning and qualifying tax- exempt reorganizations of family businesses, succession planning, and estate planning.

His career began with KPMG Peat Marwick. He was a partner of Aubrey, Dixon & Turgeon LLC and is the founder of Turgeon & Associates, LLC. He is a member of the AICPA.

Jaye Wahl

Director of Communications

Jaye Wahl is responsible for communications and marketing support and is dedicated to providing our clients with exceptional service.

Her experience includes supporting executives at Marriott International, Association Management Center and National Van Lines. She holds a BA in business administration and marketing management from Western Governors University.
